Privacy Policy
This policy explains what ConcreteCals does with information when you use this website and the concrete calculator. The short version: your project measurements stay in your browser, and we only receive what you choose to send us.
Last updated:
The short version
- The calculator runs in your browser. Your dimensions are not sent to us.
- No account is required, and we do not sell personal information.
- We only receive information you choose to send by email or the contact form.
- Your light or dark theme preference is stored locally on your device.
- Our hosting provider and Google Fonts may process standard technical data.
Who we are
ConcreteCals (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates this website and the free concrete calculator available at concretecals.com. This policy applies to this website and to any page that links to it.
For privacy questions, contact us at hello@concretecals.com.
Information you choose to send us
You can use ConcreteCals without giving us any personal information. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive the details you include — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you attach files, we receive those too.
We use this information to reply, troubleshoot problems, correct content, and improve the calculator. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it. We keep messages only as long as needed for the conversation and any follow-up, unless a longer period is required by law.
Calculator inputs stay in your browser
The dimensions, shape, waste percentage, and price you enter are processed locally by JavaScript in your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers, stored in an account, or associated with your identity. If you close or refresh the page, the values are gone.
This means we cannot see your project measurements, and we cannot retrieve them for you.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard server logs when you visit. These logs can include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, date and time, and response status. We use this information to keep the site secure and available, diagnose errors, and understand basic traffic patterns.
This site does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If that changes, we will update this policy and describe the service and any choices available to you.
Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to deliver the site:
- Google Fonts. Font files and stylesheets are loaded from Google's servers. Google may receive your IP address and browser information as part of that request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure. Our hosting provider processes requests and may keep server logs for security, performance, and abuse prevention.
- External links. Pages may link to suppliers, manufacturers, or other websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How we use information
- To respond to questions, feedback, and correction requests.
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
- To improve explanations, calculator features, and content.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Legal bases for EEA and UK users
Where the General Data Protection Regulation or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests. Operating and securing the site, responding to messages, and improving the service.
- Consent. Where we ask for it, such as for optional communications.
- Legal obligation. Where we must process or retain information to comply with the law.
You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to request portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise a right, email hello@concretecals.com.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you; to object to or restrict certain processing; to request a portable copy; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To make a request, contact us at hello@concretecals.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
In the past 12 months, we may have collected identifiers (such as name and email address) only when you contacted us, and internet or network activity through standard server logs. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the calculator. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
To exercise a California right, email hello@concretecals.com.
Data retention
Calculator inputs never reach us, so there is nothing for us to retain. Emails and contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and reasonable follow-up, unless a longer period is required by law. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider's settings and are used for security and diagnostic purposes. The theme preference remains in your browser until you clear it.
Children's privacy
ConcreteCals is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
ConcreteCals is accessible worldwide. Email and hosting providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By contacting us, you understand that your message may be processed outside your country of residence.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information, payment details, or confidential project documents through the contact form or email.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or the law requires. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If a change is material, we will make that clear on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
